Mega Church pastor, T.D. Jakes, has show up out of the closet, so to speak.
During an interview with Huffington Announce, a liberal publication that has promoted positions and ethics that are often very anti-Christian, Jakes said that homosexuals should attend congregations that affirm their lifestyles and that politics do not want to reflect biblical ethics, adding that his position on homosexuality is both “evolved and evolving.”
Jakes is yet another prominent figure in the world of televangelism and Christian entertainment who has caved to cultural pressure. Denying the explicit pronouncement of the Word of God on the matter of homosexuality, which calls it an “abomination” (Leviticus 18:22), Jakes seems to now think that we should set that aside and find churches that fit what we choose to believe and exercise. Jakes, pastor of the Potter’s House megachurch in Dallas, has again decided to apply his position as one of the most influential African-American pastors in the country to publicly bash gay people. Jakes appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s new speak show, Oprah’s Next Chapter, on Sunday and declared that he believes homosexuality is “condemned by the scriptures.”

Oprah: “Would you say that everybody is embraced in your church?”
Jakes: “Oh, absolutely. Yeah, absolutely.”
Oprah: “Because you know that you’ve been accused of saying that gay people would not be welcome.”
Jakes: “Oh, no, no, no. That’s not true at all.”
Oprah: “That’s not true?”
Jakes: “Well, the perception in our society today is that if you don’t say you’re for same-sex marriage or if you say that homosexuality is a sin that you’re homophobic and you’re against gay people. That’s not true. I’m not called to give my view. I’m called as a pastor to give the scriptural position on it. It doesn’t signify I have to agree with you to love you. I don’t dislike anybody. I adore everybody.”

Bishop T.D. Jakes thinks it is “absolutely” possible for the LGBT and Jet communities to coexist.
Jakes, who joined HuffPost Live on Monday, opened up to host Marc Lamont-Hill about his thoughts on the partnership between these communities.
“I think that it’s going to diverse from church to church every church has a other opinion on the issue and every gay person is different,” Jakes said.
While Jakes believes churches are allowed to practice and preach values shared by their respective leaders, he also advocates that LGBT people attend a church that aligns with their own convictions and values. And although he admits that his individual stance on homosexuality is both “evolved and evolving,” he says all LGBT people should be treated with tolerance and respect.
“LGBT’s of different types and sorts have to find a place of worship that reflects what your views are and what you consider like anyone else,” he said. “And the church should have its control convictions and values.”

On the stage of First Baptist Church of Glenarden International, Bishop T. D. Jakes didn’t expend much time preaching from the lectern at center stage of the megachurch.
Instead, the televangelist walked help and forth in his dark suit and striped tie, switching a handheld microphone from his left to his right hand, sometimes facing the predominantly Black congregation of thousands gathered for an annual revival at the launch of the year, other times turned toward the clergy and the choir members sitting on the large stage.
“The Holy Soul sent me all the way to the DMV to tell you this is your year to pivot,” the Dallas-based Pentecostal minister said to cheers and applause from the Washington, DC-area crowd, many on their feet on January 5. “You contain to surround yourself with people who can pivot because they’re following who you used to be. Now they’ve got to follow who you own become.”
